Armor of God with text!

Here is the words with the 'Whole Armor of God' our RS President was in the Sunday School class and she thought it was so meaningful that she had the YW and YM and the Primary come in to see it!  Lots of good discussion from the class!  Dad didn't wear it - that would have taken too much time - so we just hung it from a hanger - worked well.

Sorry about the NC pictures all in various places - I noticed 5 drafts and don't know how they got there instead of posted!!

This great willow tree is in the front yard of the new house - the kids love to climb it - especially Grace.  They are planning on building tree houses in some of the other trees in their woods.
Jason has been collecting old lanterns - really old ones.  the one on the far right belonged to his great grandfather - they found it all rusty and dirty in an old shed in Spring Dale - Jason fixed it up and it works!
the little red one on the left is an official Boy Scout lantern - from many years ago - some are over 100 years old - we used two of them outside to toast marshmallows in their ceramic fire thing.
Beautiful sunset the first night in the new house - pretty area of the world.
After church on Sunday, - the leaves were in beautiful color and it was so much warmer than Montana!

Armor of God

The Gospel Doctrine lesson today is about putting on the 'Whole Armor of God' - I found this plastic suit of armor online for half price after Halloween - fun!  I will label the parts - Shield of Faith, Helmet of Salvation, etc. in class today.  Notice the poster on the floor - the unprotected with the darts of the adversary coming at him!  don't notice the messy floor behind Dad!

Toasting Marshmallows

It was raining a little misty rain, but we wanted to toast marshmallows and there was this neat ceramic stove to do it in!  Grandpa made the fire and we all had a good time.

Grace wanted to sew by the lantern light - so she did!  Jason refurbished the lanterns and they all work - even his Great Grandfather's that is over 100 years old!

Teaching sewing

Here we are sewing - the girls already know how - the boys are learning cross stitch.
finished projects!  boys initials - girls designs... sure fun!

Last of NC Pictures

more Summerfield, NC

Here is "Henry" - as in Henry Ford - the boys love the tractor.
Our Halloween costumes - fun night with the kids.  Warm weather and lots of candy.
Here is the haul - and the tired kids!

Hardy's New House

Sophie and Grace said we should tell people this is our new house!!  actually it's an old corn crib that the former owner had found on the land and moved to it's present place in the yard...neat tool shed.
This is their new house - Aunt Becky said it looks like "Anne of Green Gables" - wonderful house and yard and woods and all.
Since the girls are home schooled they decided I was their sub teacher and we did PE!!
At the old house - pretty tree and silly girls!  loved being there and being able to help a small bit.

His Hands are our hands Primary quilt

Old former bishop's wife was called in August to be the Primary President .. then her husband died of a heart attack the next month - he was only 52 years old.
The Primary helped the children of the ward put their hands and their names on white squares, the RS sisters sewed them and the YW quilted for Sister Snapp.  The theme was: His Hands are Our Hands - she was very happy to get this and we all had a good time making it - Sister Brooks in the blue sweater, Sister Ricks (married to a man from Dillon) in the gray one.

Halloween decorations

Before Halloween I got to tend a couple of boys while their mom went to the temple with our YW - she is the YW President.  These decorations were cute and fun - the skeleton is all made of milk jugs!

Brother Brooks had a fishing line hooked to the front door and this spider would come down as you closed the door!! The Brooks have family in AK - one of Sister Brooks Uncles served in the Mong branch with Derrell.
Of courses Talmadge and Trampus loved the marble game!!
